James Spencer Gainey, MD

Dr. James Gainey joined our center as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Gainey completed his family medicine residency at AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina, after earning his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Gainey's approach to patient care is rooted in his belief in addressing the entire person and building meaningful relationships with each individual. His dedication to seniors began during medical school, where he participated in a senior-based pilot program. Over the years, as an urgent care and primary care physician, he has consistently served older adult patients. Dr. Gainey believes that a successful doctor-patient relationship is built on encouraging questions, fostering understanding, and engaging in shared decision-making to ensure patient satisfaction. His decision to pursue medicine stems from a genuine desire to use his talents to help others, guided by the principle of 'First, do no harm.'Dr. Gainey is the proud father of three boys. In his free time, he enjoys music, reading books, and exploring the outdoors through activities like hiking.
